With Application Studio administrators can configure a powerful mobile mash-up unifying data from several different data sources and adding value to users in their daily business tasks. In the mobile world we are delivering on the failed promise of Java’s once famous slogan “Write once, run anywhere”. But it is better than Java because no code needs to be written – anyone who has seen our App Studio “App From Scratch” demo knows that configuring a new mobile application is a completely drag and drop operation. Once configured, a Pyxis Mobile application runs on Blackberry, Windows Mobile, and desktop browsers with no additional configuration required for any platform.
Why should Pyxis Mobile release an iPhone client? There has been quite a bit of hype since iPhone 2.0 was released… Rumors of many companies piloting iPhone and some rumors of a few companies thinking about replacing their current mobile devices with iPhones. In my opinion the jury is still out on how far iPhone will invade financial enterprises. But the curiosity is certainly there and we hear the curiosity in many of our sales and marketing discussions. We are listening to our customers and prospects as we develop Pyxis Mobile for iPhone, our fourth supported platform, in keeping with our vision of “Configure once, run anywhere”.
