The next application offered for consideration in last week's App From Scratch competition is "General Contractor Mobile." The contractor application allows a floor manager or a small business owner keep track of inventory and sales information from their mobile device. By interacting with a QuickBooks ™ database, the user can track inventory, order new inventory, provide quotes to clients for jobs, and view reports on current sales figures.

The contest, open to any and all Pyxis Mobile employees, is designed to highlight the power of the Application Studio product, and its ability to deliver an unlimited range of applications and use cases (in under 24 hours) without the need for client or server code development.

This first-of-its-kind application allows review of customer information, inventory, and full transactional ordering from suppliers. The screen flow is as follows:
Dashboard: Provides an overview of inventory items in need of ordering and the number currently on order. From here, the user can go to the inventory list, the customer list, or the quote list.

Inventory List: Displays the current stocks and prices of items for the business. For each item, a picture is available for easier identification. From here, the user can choose to update the photo associated with the inventory item.

Customer List: Provides a list of all current, prospective, and past customers. From here, the user can view any current quotes provided to the customer or create a new quote.

Add Quote: Adds a new quote for the customer and
associates all the items and their quantities needed in the quote.
Quote List: Provides a list of all current quotes. The quote list will highlight any quotes which require additional stock to be ordered.

As I mentioned in the main post, one or more of these applications will be made available for download. What do you think of this. Is this the one you want?
