"App From Scratch" - Scavenger Hunt Wireless
The next application offered for consideration in last week's App From Scratch competition is "Scavenger Hunt Wireless" a networked game that allows a "host" to define the hunt and the let players use their mobile devices to "map & snap" their way to fun and prizes, using the GPS and camera features of the device.

The contest, open to any and all Pyxis Mobile employees, is designed to highlight the power of the Application Studio product, and its ability to deliver an unlimited range of applications and use cases (in under 24 hours) without the need for client or server code development.

How does it work?
- The administrator creates a new scavenger hunt by adding clues with optional photos
- Anyone can join a team to participate in a scavenger with friends and submit photos of clues to earn points
- As teams submit their photos, the administrator awards points based on correctness and originality
- Observers can watch the action to see submitted photos, check scores and add messages for participants to view
The designers believe this will be a viral game that could find a great home on Facebook.
In accordance with the rules of the competition, this application was delivered in under 24 hours with no coding and no compilation. It makes use of data from a number of public web services and highlights a number of Pyxis Mobile 6.1 features including exploding rows, font control, in-line images, graphical navigation, and multi-platform support. As I mentioned in the main post, one or more of these applications will be made available for download. What do you think of this. Is this the one you want?
